I just finished reading this book, “Steal Like An Artist”. I can say that this is a book that I really need to read beside my Urban Design-related books. The book isn’t a thick one and it’s not full of text, that’s important, because I didn’t need to spend much time to finish it.
I really like the way Austin Kleon wrote this book, he didn’t give many “complicated” things in his book, gave plenty of nice quotes, and the illustrations are unique. He drew it by himself, I guess. That makes me want to draw again.
One of the best parts in this book for me is the fourth chapter “Use Your Hands” (“Gunakan Tanganmu” in Bahasa Indonesia”). It reminds me to not to depend on the computer for all the things I do. Yes, I know that, but you know, we need to have some more motivations to change the habit. And this book tells good stories to do it better, and fun.
Well, since this book is so fascinating to read, I think I will buy the “Show Your Work”, written by the same author.
[P.S] I read the Bahasa Indonesia version of this book.
